The term tailoring describes a process of garment production where the design, the cutting pattern and its adaptation to the fabric are inextricably linked to the process of manufacturing-assembling (sewing) the pieces of fabric that have already been cut to create the final product. Cutting sewing thus covers a wide range of skills and techniques, from creating patterns and cutting fabrics, to embroidery, mending and creating new designs.
Traditionally, women in Epirus sewed their own clothes, indicative of their autonomy. Over the years, this custom, which is part of the cultural identity of the continent, not only does not disappear, but is preserved, passing from generation to generation and evolving according to the needs of the time. Today we can see that tailoring refers to the processing and creation of clothes and other textile products such as bags, knickers, hair accessories, etc., thus contributing to the local economy.
