The carpet loom is the vertical loom, which, because of its great weight, is supported on the floor and wall and tied to heavy iron supports. In the vertical loom, apart from traditional carpets, the thicker and sturdier weavings are generally made, such as bahta, mezzotint, kilims, etc., whose weave is made of wool as well.
Necessary tools for the ability to weave carpets are the comb, scissors and knife. The comb helps to position the weft correctly on the warp, the scissors determine the thickness of the pile and the knife cuts the knots.
Carpet base (warp)
The base of the carpet (warp) is usually made of cotton material. Cotton is known for its durability, providing a firm base for the carpet to be created.
Knots
The knots of the rug are produced from indelible wool. Indelible wool is chosen for its ability to retain its color over time, giving the rug a long-lasting durability and beauty.
