Spindle

The elongated cylindrical wood on which the yarn produced in the process of spinning wool is wound.

Divisible

The process by which the warp is placed on the loom instead of the loom, "warp throwing". This activity usually took place in an open space with level ground.

Tube

A quantity of yarn or thread gathered so as to form a cylinder.

Miter

Accessory of the loom with the help of which the warp was opened to allow the shuttle with the weft to pass through.

Mitoma

The process of passing the warp through the mitres and combs.

Woodblock.

The first moving mechanism of the loom, which the weaver moves with her hands and consists of the following components: shears, spars, upper woodblock, lower woodblock.

Footstools

By pressing them alternately with the soles of their feet, the weavers raised or lowered the mitres and through them the warp, so that the weaving could proceed.

Distaff

A special rod on which the wool or cotton is fixed before being spun by hand.

Shuttle

A component of the loom with which the weft is passed through the threads of the warp to make the weaving.

Anti

Wooden cylindrical component of the traditional loom on which the warp or cloth is wound.
